Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is…

February 15th, 2009 | Fighter Mentality, Meeting Your Goals, Personal Growth | 1 Comment | Written by Fighter

I know there are a few of you reading this who never thought I’d do it – but I DID! In YO FACE! haha…

About 1.5 years ago I started visiting Mumbai for business and I absolutely fell in love with the city. Why? I have no idea, I just did (isn’t that enough).

A few months back I started declaring that I was going to eventually MOVE to Mumbai and spend most of my time there. Of course I still have to frequent the US, my entire life and business started there. However, I wanted to spend most of my time in Mumbai.

I wanted to get my own place and really experience living in India.

A LOT of people thought I was just “talking out of my ass” and not really serious – even my friends in Mumbai. They’ve lived here their entire life and could not imagine why anyone would want to leave US (where everyone fights to get to) and come to a overly polluted and traffic jam filled Mumbai.

Well – guess what people…

I don’t have an answer for you but I will say one thing.

When I say I’m going to do something – I do it. I don’t care what it is.

It’s a mistake to doubt me! I can be persistent as he** and I like doing *different* and weird things that many would not have have a chance or the balls to do.

What’s the lesson here? Or Am I just bragging about myself?

I’m not bragging, there is a lesson. The lesson is that you need to be open to experiencing different things.

Come on, do something crazy – what’s the worst that can happen? Just do it! (as Nike would say).

Take some risks…that’s the only way life can bring you something different and special.

This is NOT the time To “JUDGE” India…

November 26th, 2008 | Fighter Story, Motivation | 6 Comments | Written by Fighter

Hey Everyone,

I’ve had many write to me about the terrorist attacks going on in Mumbai. Yes, I am in Mumbai. Yes, I’m very close to it all. I’m doing OK – but there is something to be learned here…(I’ll get to that in a minute).

It seems they are targeting 5 star hotels and my luck, I am in one of the top ones in Mumbai. Fortunately they have not attacked this one. However, my heart, best wishes and prayers go to the hundreds of innocent people who were not so fortunate.

Not a moment to judge India…

I am quite taken back by comments like “Man, it’s great to be American…” and things. These attacks effect everyone around the world. What India needs is your prayers right now – NOT your judgements.

Also, they are targetting US Citizens and UK Citizens specifically, so this has global impact and it’s not a “country thing.”

Lesson Learned…Being a Fighter Does NOT Mean Taking Unnecessary Risks…

I was actually scheduled to LEAVE Mumbai just a few hours from when the attacks started. My flight is still leaving and I am fairly close to the airport.

However, the advice of many in the area was that we should cancel our flights and not take any unnecessary risks.

This is exactly what I have done.

For a few I did have the attitude of “Whatever happens, happens…I want to go home” – Afterall, I’ve been traveling for a month now and really want to go home.

However, I had to use sense. This is teaching me a LOT about fighting my own arrogance and “sense of security.”

Time To Come Together, Not Make Smart Remarks…

I really want to reach out to everyone and ask that they provide their SUPPORT right now rather than gloating about the benefits of their current situation (aka not being in India).

This is tragic, 80 are already dead and over 200 are injured.

To all the 100+ hostages, I pray for your safety – this is a true time to fight. A time no one ever wants to face.
