Steve Jobs Tells 3 Stories From His Life…

August 5th, 2008 | Fighter Story, Motivation | No Comments | Written by Fighter

I was wandering around blogs today and came across one of my favorite ones, SuperAffiliateMindset.com run by one of our fellow fighters, Amit Mehta.

Amit happened to stumble upon a commencement speech that Steve Jobs did in 2005 for the graduating Stanford class. Steve Jobs, in my opinion, is one of the most genius minds to have existed in the world of business.

Given he was a bit of a “weirdo” growing up and had an abundance of personal problems (let’s face it, who doesn’t!). Steve Jobs is creative, inspirational, a visionary and he knows how to create IMPACT.

Steve starts by talking about his life and he shares 3 specific stories from his life…

1. Connecting the dots looking back, not forward…the story of how he dropped out of college.

2. Love and Loss…the story of how he got fired from his own company!

3. Death…asking yourself if you’re doing today what you would want to do on your last day?

“Sometimes life’s gonna hit you in the head with a brick, don’t lose faith…”

Spoken like a TRUE fighter! Life is nothing without obstacles, we get strong with every new one and Steve’s life has been full of obstacles. He fought and fought and today he is responsible for many of the world’s largest technological movements…

Here are some of the obstacles that Steve has faced:

- Dropped out of college
- Openly and Publicly fired from his own company
- Lost his friends, even the love of his life
- Diagnosed with cancer

What else can you fight from!!

Hats off to you Steve, keep on fighting, you inspire us all!

My Own Fighting Story - Visit My House!

August 4th, 2008 | Fighter Story | No Comments | Written by Fighter

Dave Woodward has started a new web based TV show called “Legendary Marketers” - he actually flew down to Maryland to meet with me in person and film my own personal fighting story!

As I asked just yesterday for everyone to submit their own, I thought I’d share this very well edited video for you.

(BTW, that’s not my house, that’s my parents, I just recently moved out - yes, I know, I was lazy :P )

Here is a link to the video…

Make a video about your story too and send it to me at leadfighter at gmail.com and I’ll be sure to put it up here!

Your Fighting Story?

August 4th, 2008 | Fighter Story | 1 Comment | Written by Fighter

I wanted to make a quick post to tell everyone to send me your fighter stories. Tell me if you’re in the middle of a “self-challenge” or tell me about the past when you fought against some odds and made it.

I really want to know and I’m sure the readers here would love it.

Make sure to give me enough details so I can really understand what you’re up to. If you happen to have a website or blog where you’re talking about it, even the better, I can give you some promotion on this blog for free!

Send your fighting story to my e-mail:  LeadFighter AT Gmail . com

BTW, I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but I’ve been keep the blog real small. I have not even mentioned it to my thousands and thousands of readers. HOWEVER, that’s about to change. I’ll be starting to promote the blog pretty heavily very soon :)

A Fighter Story - One of Our Own!

August 1st, 2008 | Fighter Story | 3 Comments | Written by Fighter

I got an e-mail that really made me smile today. Oddly enough it was right after my “appreciation” post, but it was sent far before it (I’m just bad with e-mail).

Anyways, he makes a very interesting point … how does someone learn to fight if everything has come easy to them?

Here’s exactly what he wrote:

A Fighter Story

What’s really awesome is that he’s currently embaring on a challenge that WILL teach him how to fight. He’s training to get back in shape to run a 10 miler…

What’s even better is that he’s started a website to TRACK his endeavours, it’s a great site and it makes him accountable for his goal!

Let’s support him and have a look at: http://downbroadstreet.com/

2 Reasons Why Quitters Never Win…

May 22nd, 2008 | Fighter Story, Overcome Obstacles | 2 Comments | Written by Fighter

What you learn today: Why “quitting” is a trap and how you might be quitting right BEFORE you succeed!

=========================================

Why Not To QuitI was in “Hot”lanta this past weekend to speak at a seminar. An hour before I spoke, I ran into a lady in the lobby and we struck a conversation. She was telling me her own “fighting” story about how she got to the seminar…

–> She was broke.
–> Had to fight her husband to get there.
–> Had already failed on building her online business a few times and everyone was telling her she couldn’t do it.

However, she said she REFUSED to give up and that she was going to keep “fighting” - her words, not mine (I don’t think she even knew that I run this site).

She Said Something Incredibly Profound…

As she talked and I practiced my listening skills I caught a quick statement she made that pierced straight to my brain and made me have an “AH HA” moment.

Here’s what she said exactly…

“I told my husband there is no way I’m quitting. Only 2 things happen when you quit. Either you quit before you ever even started OR you quit right before it became successful.”

Just take a minute to really think about that, if it “clicks” in your head, you’re going to have a serious moment like I did.

This woman (I wish I had written her contact information down) doesn’t know it, but she may have just changed the way I think about many things!

I’m not saying that you should never “throw in the flag” or “walk from a bad investment” - but if you really think about it, most of the time the only reason we ever “fail” is because we either never really truly started or we just didn’t try hard enough (a.k.a quit right before it became a success).

The last few days I have been walking around repeating that statement in my head and it’s truly motivational…

So, when’s the last time YOU quit something? Did you ever really even start? If so, do you HONESTLY think you tried hard enough and kept at it as long as needed?

Life Changing Day - I Met “Mini” Fighters…

May 14th, 2008 | Fighter Story | 4 Comments | Written by admin

What you learn today: If you want to improve your life, you have to first learn to accept, enjoy and appreciate your current life…

====================================

Within the last few months I’ve had a chance to visit an organization called “Aseema” twice and I have to say that in many ways, it has truly changed my life.

Aseema Visit

Aseema is a non-profit that builds schools for underprivileged street children - these kids literally live in the slums in India, Aseema pulls them away from their abusing jobs and horrible situations and gives them a class A education.

My Biggest Take-Away - The Smiles On These Kid’s Faces

Let me ask you something? So what if your burger is done medium-rare and not medium? Who cares if “she” talked about you behind your back?

Aseema Kids SmileThese are the questions you start to ask when you get a chance to visit these children and see the HUGE smiles on their faces. These kids are the greatest fighters I have ever seen.

> They live in the slums
> They can barely afford to eat
> Many of them are abused
> The list goes on and I don’t have the strength to get into it.

Yet, some how, these kids are running around, playing, smiling, laughing, cheering - just being kids with big dreams and hopes.

“Hey Kids, What Do You Want To Be In The Future?”

When we asked this question, their enthusiastic, optimistic, fighter filled hands shot straight to the sky…

- A doctor!
- A cricketer!
- An architect…
- Musician
- Artist…

We heard it all and they weren’t just saying it - they had a plan. Mind you, these kids ranged from 2 years old to 10 years old and many of them already knew what cricket team they would play for in 10 years - talk about self-manifesting!

Aseema Igatpuri Visit

“We Can All Learn A Thing or Two From These Kids…”

Every time I start to get down on myself about the fact that “I’m not making enough money” or some other stupid thing that really just doesn’t matter in the end - I look at these pictures (I have over 100 of them).

These kids have taught me that we should all make the best of life. If you want to fight for a better life, you ironically need to accept the one you have and enjoy the moment.

Enjoy your current life, smile, laugh and continue to fight for a better life - but you can’t do one without the other.

====================================

Side Tip: I really advise that you get involved with a non-profit that holds dear to your heart - your life takes a different meaning the minute you do. For me, it’s “underpriviledged education” - I really believe that every child should be given a great education and a chance to pave his/her own way.
