Proof That You Create What You Fear…

Create What You FearToday I experienced STRONG proof that you really do create what you fear.

Here’s some background…

A few days ago I had some dental work and just 2 days afterwards, my teeth really started to hurt. The minute they started hurting, I (freakishly) had the fear that I’m going to need a root canal. I have no idea where it came from, I’ve never had one before - just had the fear.

#1 - Root Canal Comes True…

As soon as I get to my dentist she proceeds to tell me that she may have “messed up” a bit and that I may now require a root canal…ouch.

Unhappy with what I’ve learned, the next thought creeps into my mind…

“Man, this is going to be a bad day…” Just as I’m thinking that…

#2 - Pulled Over For Speeding…

It’s been 9 years since I was pulled over by a police officer, but of course today had to be the day! I get caught in a speed trap that’s right after a downward hill.

Irritated, frustrated and with a hurting jaw, I am bickering as I enter the highway and again think to myself…“See, I TOLD you today is going to be a …BAM!”

#3 - Big Pebble Flies Into My Windshield…

A windshield I just replaced 2 months ago after cracking, now it needs replacing again!

At this point I can’t do anything but chuckle, however, stupidly, I keep repeating “what a bad day…what a bad day…”

#4 - NO PARKING!?

The same office we’ve been in 3 years now, it’s been 2 years since the parking lot was so full that there wasn’t even one spot left. Well, of course, today was the day to break THAT record too…

So, now I’m left parking randomly in a lot that my car really does not belong in…

How I Turned It Around…

I walk into my office telling everyone how bad my day is and bickering about how I want to go home, but can’t! One of my close friends and business associates, Amit, is flying in from Miami to visit for a few days.

It was right then that Amit smacked me into shape.

As soon as he walked in, I told him about my day and he proceeds to tell me: “Dude, you create your own day, it’s because you keep thinking negatively that bad things are happening…”

“OF COURSE!” I think… “I KNEW THAT!”

I immediately make a decision to turn my day around, “I won’t let this day be bad anymore, it’s a great day and I’m loving it…” It’s been 10 hours since I declared that and the day turned out to be incredibly productive and positive.

So, next time you think “today’s going to stink” - remember, you are what you think!

    I love the picture…:)

This is an awesome post. There will always be occurrences that we may consider “bad” or “good”… it is totally up to us what meaning we apply to these, and that meaning can determine the momentum for the rest of the day, week, …. life, etc.

Once the frustration is triggered, it is very hard to step out of the “this sucks” zone. It can be tough when you have someone to help, but it is even tougher on your own.

The best solution to this I have found is awareness. If you see your responses to events begin to snowball toward frustration and anger, do something to break the cycle before it gets out of hand (listen to music, laugh, take a few deep breaths, etc.). End the problem before it really starts to be a problem…

Here’s to all our days getting better and better!

    keep smiling,

There’s clear proof that we make our own reality and that the thoughts we have NOW manifest as events LATER. The fastest path to a new reality is to change your consciousness: clear your mind, view something in a new way, take a new action. As you point out it works.

Consider this piece of ancient wisdom: the fastest way to wealth it through giving. The more you give the more you receive. Don’t believe me just try it. I was on a plane in a choice seat when the flight attendant came over to ask me if I’d be willing to move so that some parents could sit together with their three year old. I knew what was coming (screaming, fidgeting, seat kicking, food throwing), however I just smiled and said absolutely.

In the seat I moved to, their was a small envelope on the seat from British Airways asking for a donation to a worthy cause. Everyone gets them in their meal, but no one ever uses them. I had 25 Euros left over and was headed back to the US, so I put it in, walked the envelope up to the galley, and left it anonymously. Finally, about 15 minutes later, another flight attendant came by to tell me that they interview passengers based on random seat selection and my seat had been chosen (the new seat to which I’d moved). Instead of blowing it off, I answered the questions with a smile.

A few minutes later, after I’d settled in for the 8 hour flight, the head flight attendant tapped me on the shoulder and asked me to follow him. I did — into business class, where he pointed out a lay-flat seat. “One of the flight attendants told me about your willingness to move for that family. Thank you. We have this free business class seat and I’d like you to have it.”

After a killer meal, I laid out for a good nights sleep grooving to the tracks I’d selected on my private entertainment center.

As Gandi said, we must be the change we want to see. It works!

I’m afraid that’s simply absurd. =/ Reality exists outside of our minds, friend. The question is: how do we control it physically?
