You are absolutely right that most people view &#039;manipulation&#039; as something negative, and &#039;influence&#039; seems to avoid those red flags.

That is the nature of definitions... they are based off the way we use language... not some delusional &#039;universal truth&#039;.

Of course, the next layer of the puzzle now becomes how we choose to define &#039;good&#039; and &#039;bad&#039;.

Marketing genius Dan Kennedy says that if you haven&#039;t pissed somebody off by lunch... then you obviously haven&#039;t gotten much done that day 

Does this make Dan Kennedy a &#039;bad&#039; person?
